Our Mission and Aims
With the gradual deepening of research on aging and dementia, differences in different languages, cultures, and races have also aroused more research attention. We hope to use neurological tests, cognitive tests, and MRI scans to help us conduct a more comprehensive and in-depth study of the relationship between language and brain aging and related neurodegenerative diseases, thereby providing new evidence for how to effectively prevent aging for future studies and policy development. Our aims include:
1. To investigate the relationship of bilingualism with cognition and molecular biomarkers in cognitively healthy, MCI, and AD within and across three culturally and linguistically diverse cohorts.
2. To examine the neural mechanisms of reserve/resilience associated with bilingualism within and across cohorts.
3. To study the relationship between SDOH, bilingualism, and cognitive outcomes.
Collaborations
Lingua is proud to collaborate with a distinguished group of organizations and consortia dedicated to advancing Alzheimer's disease research. Our partnerships are integral to our mission, facilitating innovative studies and fostering a deeper understanding of this complex condition. Our esteemed partners include NIMHANS, HABS-HD, Mount Sinai, Mayo Clinic, and Washington University. These collaborations enable us to leverage collective expertise and resources, enhancing our efforts to explore new frontiers in the fight against Alzheimer's disease. Together, we are committed to making significant strides in research that can lead to more efficient and convenient diagnoses.
